Reference only

Good records start with trusted sources.

Jartistry stores the source text you provide and the observations you enter. Shelf decisions stay with a tested publication and your own process. An opening date means ready to open, not safe to eat.

No calculations

The studio does not calculate processing time, pressure, acidity, headspace, substitutions, or approved jar sizes.

A link is attribution

A source link records where the text came from. It is not a review of your transcription.

Observations stay observations

A seal check and a timer record what you saw. Neither one certifies a jar for the shelf.

Reminders are personal

A date on a label is a personal reminder. It is never an expiry or a safety badge.

Edits change provenance

Changing ingredients, method, yield, steps, or jar sizes marks the revision as user entered.

Authoritative starting points include the NCHFP USDA publications and the NCHFP page on cooling jars and testing seals.
